Dust Bowl BeemersBMW Motorcycle Riders Group
Dust Bowl Beemers Motorcycle Club
The Dust Bowl Beemers is an informal group of enthusiastic BMW owners and riders founded in 1984 all nd located in Lubbock, Texas. We are charter members of the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association (BMW MOA #170) with members owning new and old BMWs, as well as other brands of motorcycles. We are an informal group with no rules, no dues, no by-laws and we welcome all motorcycle riders.
Weather permitting we have club events and rallies every month as well as some spontaneous breakfast and other rides from time to time. We have an informal breakfast, followed by coffee and donuts, every Saturday morning and a dinner/business meeting once a month. If you ride motorcycles, we would like to meet you. Come to one of our events listed on this website and introduce yourself… Don’t be bashful!

Saturday morning (October 17) Headed out on Saturday morning (October 17) for a ride designed to include lunch with an old friend in Olney (just east of Seymour). I’ve made the ride to Seymour many times and didn’t want to just “do-it-again”. I decided I would...read more
Summer Saddle Sore and Soaking June 24 – July 2, 2020 The original ride would have taken my wife and I to the BMW National Rally in Great Falls. The ride was planned and reservations were made along our route northward and westward after the rally. Those plans were...read more

Thurs, July 16 – Sat, July 18 – Paonia Rally, officially, the 48th Annual Top ‘o the Rockies BMW Rally. There used to be several of us go to this each year, but not so many recently. The riding in the area is great and the camping area in the City park is very good with all the trees. Don’t know about the cost.
Fri, Aug 14 – Sun, Aug 16 – Cloudcroft Weekend! This is the 13th or 14th year of this outing in Cloudcroft. There are usually 8 to 10 of us go from here, plus 3 or 4 from the Midland area. We had a good turnout last year. The riding is limited, but the visiting and camaraderie is expansive. It usually rains in the afternoon, so bring your rain suit. We have a set of rooms set aside at the Dusty Boots Motel (nee, the Aspen Motel – the phone number is the same). Several of us will go over on Thurs, the 13th.
Thurs, Aug 13??? – Sun, Aug 16??? – 22nd Annual Bear Tooth Pass Rendevouz in Red Lodge, Montana. Several DBBers will go to this. It is almost always in conflict with our Cloudcroft weekend.
Fri, Sept 11 – Sun, Sept 13 – Sipapu Weekend! It is always the weekend after Labor Day. There are a bunch of us go over for this. In fact, there are several of us who are members of the DBB and the LOEBMWR. Some of us go over on Tues after Labor Day, some on Weds, some on…. well, you get the idea. It’s always a great weekend! The riding in the area is wonderful! $45.00 per person if you register before Aug. 19; $50 after that and at the gate.
Thurs, Sept 17??? – Sun, Sept 20??? – The Big Bash in Ruidoso; officially, 51st Anniversary Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally. There used to be 30,000 or so in attendance for this, I don’t know now. New owners for this and the Spring AspenCash, I have read. Ruidoso Downs race track, I think.
Sat, Oct 10??? – Sun, Oct 11??? – Don Cameron, in Deming, NM, is hosting a campout at his place on the north side of Deming. If you don’t camp anymore, there are motels aplenty in Deming.
Fri, Oct 16 – Sun, Oct 18 – The last couple of years we have gone to Alpine, Tx, in the month of Oct, just in case the weather is bad in Dec.
Fri, Oct 25??? – Sun, Oct 27??? – A BMW Getaway Weekend in Kerrville at the YO Ranch Resort. I’ve not been to one of these, so I don’t know what all goes on. I know the YO Resort is not a Ray Randolph type of motel, so it won’t be cheap.
**Fri, Nov 6 – Sun, Nov 8 – 50th South Central BMW Owners Reunion. Again at Lake Fayette, just outside Fayetteville, TX. Johnny Williams can fill you in on the details, if you are interested.
Fri, Dec 4 – Sun, Dec 6 – Christmas Parade Weekend in Fredricksburg, Tx. The last time Janice D and I went to this was 4 or 5 years ago. We didn’t stay for the parade; it has gotten too long. They have brought back the shopper tents in the Market Platz and have done away with the ice skating rink. Attendance seemed to be down, also.
Fri, Dec 4 – Sun, Dec 6 – Or, an alternative weekend in Alpine if weather interferes earlier.
Fri, Dec 11 – Sun, Dec13 – Or, if the weather is bad, we could try this weekend.
Thurs, Dec 31 – New Year’s Eve Party????
** Change of date.
??? Date uncertain, at this time.
